Back on the Patch

After a month offshore being entertained by White-billed Divers, Little Auks, Waxwings and Bean Geese it was back to the local patch today. On the way to Burgh Castle I managed to pick out an adult and 1st winter Med Gull and 2 LBB Gulls amongst a Common/BH Gull flock. My first patch tick of the day was a Great Spotted Woodpecker in Belton. At the river it was high tide so it was packed full of wildfowl but wader-less! The only patch tick there was a Tufted Duck, although 2 female Marsh Harriers patroling the reedbeds and flushing the Bearded Tits several times kept me amused for a while. The Aberlady total has still to be counted up but excuses of too much office work are already being used!!
